If you are Asian, perhaps you might be familiar with the image on the left, of people making fun* of your eye size / shape. Or perhaps you might have wondered why your eyes are shaped the way they are?
If you are not Asian, or more specifically not East Asian, you perhaps can instinctively recognize people from East Asia - Chinese, Korean, and Japan, by looking at the eyes.
There is an explanation for why East Asian eyes tend to have more people with narrow (almond-shaped) eyes. It is because of our internal repressed feelings. Namely, feeling #6 of Mind / No Mind. How do I know this, because my eyes (Or rather exposed area of the eye) have gotten bigger as I have eliminated this feeling! As well as just observation of other people.
While feeling #6 is in everyone all over our world, it is in higher concentration in people of East Asia and...

*I once saw an advertisement in a local newspaper (August 2009) in Medellin, Colombia which had a closeup of a Colombian girl making fun of Asians similar to the photo to the left. You can see it below. The translation of the text in Spanish is more/less this: "Don't fall for the Chinese story. When you buy Colombian products, they will have the best quality and guarantee, and help to maintain and generate Colombian jobs for thousands of Colombians."
Some commentary: Don't get the idea that a lot of people would think like this in Colombia. I lived there for five years and would say there are less issues with race relations there than in many parts of the world, including the USA. But, that's just my opinion. There aren't many Asians in Colombia so that is a factor. I imagine there are more issues between dark skinned folk and fair skinned folk. In many parts of the world - especially the more politically correct ones, there are a lot more race relation issues than what is on the surface. Global competition has many benefits and many negatives, it can be hard for many. Let's leave it at that. Needless to say, the solution to all race relation issues is at hand. Who will be "we?"
...many of us acquire more of this feeling as we get older. It is easy to spot once you know what to look for. This is a basic skill of face reading. When you look in the mirror what do you see? Have you ever looked at photos of when you were younger vs today?
Look at the eyes of your parents and compare with earlier photographs, then think about their personality. How about your friends? People at work?
Let us not declare that this feeling is the only one which influences eye shape / size but in my estimation it is the dominant one. Diet is involved too.
Another name for feeling #6, which was not mentioned in the book, is OBLIGATION (rather than choice). As you may recall from reading the book, feeling #6 is involved in secrecy and hiding something.
Also, women use eye makeup to look more beautiful - to exaggerate their eyes. Some might call this deceiving. It's been a CULTural tradition for thousands of years. Makeup to make eyes look bigger. Again, people with narrower eyes tend to hold more secrets / repressed feelings. It is easy to realize this once you understand what is going on. Women who know themselves better will have bigger eyes and won't need eye makeup. I recall watching some TV shows / movies on World War II and some of the soldiers would comment how the "Japs" or Asians didn't always mean what they say. Probably I've seen similar comments in documentaries about people dealing with Afghans or other Central Asians. Another name for this is "saving face." It happens all over the world, so it isn't exclusive to Asia by any means. Some of us do this so quickly and frequently in social and work settings that we may not think anything of it.
Famous celebrity with very narrow eyes. Can you guess why?
Read the next tab to learn about anime eyes.
Why do most anime characters have big eyes? There are a number of possible explanations which you can read about. Here too.
With the above said, there is probably one consensus among fans of anime, larger eyes are more attractive. Perhaps that is one reason why some fans are (subconsciously or not) attracted to the genre. Especially in parts of East Asia, as many people there do not have big eyes.
It's not just anime, but check out Ty Beanie Boos stuffed animals. Smurfs have pretty large eyes. Strawberry Shortcake and Barbie don't have eyes that are too exaggerated, but they are larger. More examples to follow.
CULTure vultures will of course say there is nothing wrong with narrow eyes, etc... and there is nothing wrong in a relative sense (Everything is relative). But, if we knew it was a sign of a destructive emotion on the inside, and we could get rid of it and all have larger eyes, then what would they say?
And wouldn't you know...read the next tab.
The optimal eye shape is in plain sight. They are the eyes of babies. Often large, but not if there is too much dark energy present. It's one reason many find babies cute and attractive. When we heal our past, our eye shape will become more optimal. Of course, maybe you find larger baby-like eyes unattractive and prefer narrow eyes - you're entitled to your opinion!
Extra Insight: In Quiet Freedom you may recall Amanda wondering if people with larger foreheads have more dark energy. One way to spot this is to look at many faces and focus on how the eyes relate to the forehead. Here is an example of someone posing with a couple of famous socialites that has a more protruding forehead. Here is another - narrow eyes and protruding forehead which reflects in his depth of eyes relative to forehead. How do these people look to you? If you want to go further, consider their life history. Former USA VP Joe Biden also appears to have a large forehead.
More examples to follow of other cartoon characters with large eyes.
My Little Pony -- Paw Patrol -- Mickey and Minnie Mouse -- Doc Mcstuffin -- SpongeBob -- Pixar films - Princess and the Frog, Wall-E -- Barney the Dinosaur? -- Cat in the Hat -- Dora the Explorer -- Elena of Avalor -- Thomas the Tank Engine - Curious George - Clifford the Big Red Dog - Angelina Ballerina - Angry Birds - Storks movie - Muppets.... the list is seemingly endless....narrow eyes, a decidely shorter list - Snoopy - Winnie the Pooh
Here are some eyes that also seem to make headlines in the news in the past and present - Elizabeth Taylor, Jeremy Meeks, more to follow.
