The first thing we thought that would be helpful is a visual diagram of how we see - dark energy -- as it relates to ourselves.
At first reading, Mind / No Mind may come across as "negative / not good." Ideally, the explanation in the book will have been sufficient for you to see the benefits. Another reason for difficulty with the statements is because, for the most part, -- we live in a positive-bias global society.
What does this mean? It means we (most of us) try to force a positive attitude about our life situation rather than let it bubble up naturally. We do this by things we eat and drink which temporarily lift our mood. Or we do it by pretending to be a certain way, even though we don't feel that way.
The simple diagram below shows how this works with multiple layers. At the bottom is our "original heart" which powers our core being. Over time, more dark energy has accumulated. Since we don't fully understand and/or fear and/or don't like our dark energy / repressed feelings, we try to repress them as much as possible.
We repress our dark energy with certain food, drink, and/or drugs. We then become addicted to consuming these items. We can also suppress them with the way we think about ourselves. We may get temporary happiness, but the layer of dark energy persists and ultimately gets the best of us... unless we reverse course and learn to get rid of the dark. But, we have to focus on and learn about our darkness. There are side effects to the things we consume and/or using willpower to suppress, and the list is longer than most people would imagine.
The small illustrations show how we pretend to be happy even though we are not. The struggle between our dark and light sides and how our dark energy manifests itself as our unconscious voice - which sometimes makes us think and do things we don't want to do. A better understanding of where our subconscious voice comes from will liberate us. The snow heart which represents our core being is the final image.
There is a saying in English that time heals all wounds. Is it true? Well, that depends on your definition of - wounds, and your definition of time. From our perspective, time only heals all wounds, if we are honest with ourselves about what is ailing us - physically or emotionally - and taking a proactive approach to eliminate the reasons.
Many of us are also experiencing what might be labeled as - TIME COMPRESSION. We feel like we have to do certain things in a certain timeframe - which keeps getting shorter, for many people. This makes us make certain decisions regarding how we live our lives. But, as we release ourselves from this sense of obligation, new options arise as to how to tackle certain problems.
There was a time when people's sense of time was different, very different. A long time ago it was to the rhythm of the daily day and seasons of the year. People had no watches and there were no clocks. When clocks did come around, it was perhaps the sound of a church bell. We take time for granted, but what if we could become more timeless, while still being aware of it? Our dark energy influences how we sense time / patience level, in all sorts of situations.
With this said, how long Mind / No Mind takes to work will vary by each individual and what your goal is. And how much dark energy you are repressing. And the goal may change as one understands themselves better. And your goal may change, as your sense of time changes.
